Over the past few years, I’ve completely switched up my beauty routine, and I’m 100% natural now. It started with a little curiosity about my deodorant, and then things spiraled—like, in a really good way. I realized how many products we use daily are full of chemicals, petrochemicals, hormonal disruptors, and other stuff that’s just… not great for our bodies. It was honestly shocking to wake up to that reality.

A big inspiration for me has been my best friend, Begum. She’s Turkish, (and as we all know, Turkish people are very clean, thoughtful, and full of heart.) incredibly passionate, organized, and committed in every part of her life. A few years ago, she started paying attention to what we put in and on our bodies way before I did. She now runs her own beauty salon, Maya Organic Beauty, using 100% natural, organic, and cruelty-free products. We’ve shared tips, links, and recommendations with each other over time, and her guidance really pushed me to explore the natural beauty world. If you’re ever in Bruges, check her out—she does eyelash lifting, facials, nails, pedicure, eyebrows, cupping and everything is 100% natural.

Here’s a breakdown of the make up products I’ve fallen in love with and use:

1. Hydra vegetal grand soin hydratation intense (Normal to Mixed Skin) – Yves Rocher

Why I love it: Lightweight, absorbs quickly, and basically scent-free. It’s perfect for the slight dryness I get under and between my eyebrows in winter. you can use it as day and night creme and also as a mask night.
How I use it: Just a pea-sized amount. Minimalist skincare vibe, and it lasts months. I like things simple, and this cream hits that sweet spot between practical, effective, and natural.

2. Bourjois Paris Healthy Mix Serum Concealer Roll-On

Shades: Winter 49 Ivory, Summer 51 Light Vanilla
Why I love it: Honestly, this concealer is a game-changer. The roll-on applicator is genius—you don’t have to worry about putting too much. If I do, I can just roll it onto other areas or blend it in. Minimal product, maximum effect, and it lasts me over a year. I’m cheap, and this makes me feel a little bougie without spending a fortune.
How I use it: Under my eyes, on my eyelids, sometimes a little on my nose and chin for light reflection. Works beautifully.
Shade disclaimer: I use 51 Light Vanilla, but check the dropdown on Amazon if you need a different shade.

5. Compact Powder – Yves Rocher

Shades: Rosé 200 (Summer) / Beige 200 (Winter)
Why I love it: Lightweight, natural look, easy to apply once a day.
Shade tips: during the summer i used a darker shade as latina i get tan easily and during the winter i go a shade lighter.
Practicality: Minimal fuss, still gives a natural coverage—perfect for people with flavour like me.

3. Blush – Yves Rocher (Fard à Joues Capucine 7)

Why I love it: The pigmentation is perfect. Just a dab gives me a natural pinky-peachy glow. I don’t need to switch shades between winter and summer.
Skin tone context: I’m light-skinned brown/Hispanic. I tan easily in the sun (no red, just bronze), so this shade works all year. as a light skin hispanic its hard to find a pinkish blush but since i found this tone almost two years ago I haven't felt the need to switch.
Practicality: Minimal product, maximum effect—perfect for a natural but cute look.

4. Mascara – Yves Rocher (Intense Metamorphose)

My honest truth: I sleep in makeup every day. Don’t judge me. My mom does it too, and she’s got amazing skin, so… maybe it’s genetics? 😂 Most mascaras would leave me with racoon eyes by morning. This one? Barely anything. Quick splash of cream in the shower, and it’s gone. No makeup remover needed.
Why I love it: Lightweight, no clumps, easy to layer. Brush is simple—no weird shapes. Even if I put too much, I can smooth it out.
Water-friendly: Not waterproof, but a little swim or sweat won’t ruin it unless you rub your eyes like crazy.
i can confidently say this is the best mascara I’ve ever had. If you’re lazy like me... It works. It lasts. It’s practical and you don't need make up remover if you ever slip and join me on the dark side of going to bed with make up on.
